The highest level of performance occurs in environments where everyone is a leader. To help accomplish this, the essential elements of leadership need to be simple and readily transferred. Over the years these definitions have been refined and applied across a broad range of industries including manufacturing, professional sports, service, retail, hospitality, technology and entertainment. The one common element, regardless of the size of the company, was that they all needed people to work together to succeed. 

I started writing Connecting: Life Skills for a Polarized World as a business book but as it unfolded my reviewers challenged me to broaden the scope and show how these skills apply to anyone. I used life stories to teach life skills.
